Dawn is a speech-language pathologist who provides speech/language therapy and orofacial myofunctional therapy at Kalamazoo Speech Associates.  Dawn received her B.A. from Michigan State University and her M.S. from Rush University.  She holds her certification of clinical competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed in the state of Michigan.  She is a member of the Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA) has been trained in orofacial myofunctional therapy and has been an active member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology. Dawn has been trained in orofacial myofunctional disorders and oral habit control, such as finger/thumb sucking.  Additional and ongoing training includes the Kaufman technique for childhood apraxia of speech, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Social Thinking, and stuttering treatment with children and adults. Pediatric therapy sessions are child led and expanded with specific techniques based on individual needs.  She meets clients where they are and emphasizes family involvement for positive communication interactions in different environments.   She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children in the Upper Peninsula and spending time outdoors.
